Birthday Card- Fishbowl by Vicky Papaioannou

As you know, people buy cards  for many occasions, Thank You cards to Birthday cards to Valentines Day cards to Christmas ,  Easter, Mothers Day, Fathers Day or just to say “I love you” to each other.

You will need some tools but they are affordable. Pretty low cost, I think.

Before I go, Vicky, she’s cool. She is a high school teacher (has a degree in Information Systems Engineering) BUT likes creating ART. Beautiful cards, beautiful journal pages.

She makes them in her free time. YOU, however, if you are looking for a job, CAN produce these cards full time.

HAVING SOLUTIONS is IN………………………………..ONLY PROTESTING is OUT

TO KNOW OR NOT TO KNOW

12275549_s

In this “modern” life , SOMEHOW, the incoming useful information to a person’s life is little, personal skills in basic living are reduced to a minimum level compared to yesteryear.

“Knowledge” that doesn’t produce positive results has no value.

Young people finish colleges, but they don’t have the confidence to question what they are asked of at work, or propose alternatives.

Hence we have some industries which are continuing to produce not so positive results. Such as the chemical industry (with their toxic inventions), food industry , health industry (still operating with “let’s use drugs for everything ” attitude), and governments, leading their nations to wars by creating and following false information about other countries.

Life’s rules have changed and that’s alright, as long as we can keep the new rules survival.

There are a lot of employees and little employers. This is a worldwide thing.

Males aren’t going out to hunt animals anymore (personally I find this desirable), number of farmers planting and growing real food isn’t there either.

People lack basic skills (such as how to plant, how to cook, how to organize, how to build basic things, even how to observe!) . Many things are on automatic for many people and people are really going through set up motions.

What’s even more interesting is it is supposed to be cool : ) You’ve heard young ladies bragging about not knowing to cook, right?

Paris Hilton kinds making shows like, well, I don’t know how to do the basic things, laundry? What’s that?

You know this kind of, everything is being done for me attitude, I am so privileged.

And probably a lot of young people look up to these characters.

A person in that state isn’t as much as privileged as…. how would I say this…. robbed off of basic information about this life on earth. And obviously they aren’t smart enough to create opportunities for themselves to experience and learn.

You give the responsibility to somebody else, you are to that degree dependent on that person’s information, skill, kindness, ethics….not to mention you are experiencing life pretty much second hand, you see what I am saying?

Did you ask someone to do something for you, then got a totally different result than what you were expecting? Not in a good way. That’s a side effect of being dependent.

That’s on a personal level.

How about, on a national level? Let’s take the subject of toilet papers….at some point people invented this thing, and pretty useful I might add…..so now we have the leader in the industry…Kimberly and Clark…they are producing much needed products, with a negative twist….chemicals being dumped to the water systems etc. So they do. Let’s question ourselves, what are we doing on this? Not much. Are we allowed to? Of course we are.

If we are a chemical engineer, we could do independent research perhaps and find better alternatives. If we are someone with some money, maybe we could start a company (perhaps with recycled paper or something). I only saw two brands with recycled toilet papers.

Or we could go and speak to Kimberly and Clark, a bunch, sane of us…with no yells, screams and protests, (we don’t need to chain ourselves to places either), but we could take our concerns, our own proposals and good communication with us.

We are individuals, groups , nations and the mankind, all are organisms in a growing scale. Don’t forget that.

You can have this sense and take on a positive role.

And finally don’t depend on others heavily. I mean reduce it as much as possible.

AN EXPERIENCE

I wanted to share a part of my life (past). To draw conclusion out of it to motivate you.

Math was the subject I was good at, then not so good at, in secondary and high school. Because I joined a group of girls in my class. We were interested in telling jokes and thinking about boys, pretty classic situation with teens.

For that reason, I ended up not studying at a university.

That’s why I ended up going to England to learn the English language (so I can sing in a rock band in Turkey).

I felt bad for not knowing the high school math and not going to college. As it is a stamp I needed to have on record.

As you know, that is how people assert their worth in societies, by acquiring a diploma of some sort : )

For several years, I did try to learn math from books on my own…didn’t work out. I actually took courses to prepare me for science related questions (for university exams).I didn’t learn math there either. The teacher was assuming that we already knew the subject , so information was brief. It was mostly geared towards practicing.

So later on, when I immigrated to the US, it was awesome that I could just attend a community college.

Of course I did. I was interested in biology for the most part, later math and physics.

I worked and took some classes. Started Elementary Algebra Part I., Later on took Part 2. I finished both classes with A. I think all my test scores were A (except once it was B).

Then I took the Intermediate Algebra Part I and another semester Part 2.

Again all my test scores were A. In fact, when we first started the class

(Int Algebra part2) , the teacher announced to the class that if our average from the test scores were A, then we don’t need to take the final .I didn’t pay attention to that. I had to get A’s though : )

So I was the one person who left the classroom on the day of the final, upon the teacher’s prompt. He said “what are you doing here?”, “You don’t need to take the final.”

Gist of all this, if you fail at something, that’s not the end of it necessarily. Unless you decide that it is the end. You can try again and again. Giving up is not a virtue, but persisting is.

If you are studying something , make sure you understand what the words are in your texts (for more info visit http://www.appliedscholastics.org)

It’s really ironic that what I couldn’t understand in my own language (Turkish) and failed, I excelled (for that level) in another language. Understanding words is one thing, but giving attention is another (something that I lacked in secondary school). So pay attention.

Finally, don’t get diploma to assert your worth in the society. This is a trend that hinders societies, instead of furthering it….it gets people not produce , even if they have the capacity to actually produce or learn the subject from the people who know the craft (whatever craft that is). Try to get to the point with education, enough to get your started on a line of production. BE brilliant as you already are!

FEARS-INSECURITIES-WORRIES

THE ACTRESSES: FULL UNCENSORED INTERVIEW

ROUNDTABLE

                      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wN05Tk-J_xI&spfreload=10

Hello everybody,

I came across with these interviews on You Tube (You Tube is such a vast, creative arena. Recently I have been watching a lot of videos to get inspired and to learn ).

So I didn’t know anything about The Hollywood Reporter Interviews. They have been interviewing Actors, Actresses, Comedians, Writers, Movie Composers….

I think seeing these people who are famous and successful, sharing their lives (personal and career-wise) would be awesome experience for us, “the commoners”. : ) That’s what I predict. Per the You Tube record, some thousands of people watched them. So people at large aren’t aware of these interviews.

We tend to be in mystery when it comes to success and successful people. “Wow, how did she/he do it?”

So I assume watching these interviews will be inspiring.

The amazing thing I heard uniformly among all these actors/actresses ( I watched several interviews, so 20-30 famous people) is that ;

1-They have their insecurities, such as, am I gonna be able to have another job?

2- They have been through many rejections (I say, God bless them for not giving up and continuing), and of course they all had points in their “pre-famous” lives, where they doubted their abilities, their chance of succeeding in this business.

3-They all feel they are fortunate to have the chance to be in this business, it is fun, pays off….

4- They all wonder if they’ll be able to deliver what is required of them…so they get nervous even when they commit and start the projects.

So what I want you to learn from them is, FEAR-INSECURITIES-WORRIES do happen even to the best of us. Don’t let them stop you. These people experience these negative emotions and aren’t stopped by them…it’s almost like “they walk through these emotions.

A friend, Grant Cardone said something along this line , fears, insecurities are real, you just don’t let them stop you….he said, go do the things that make you feel uncomfortable , that’s the zone you should be in, and that’s where the magic happens.

2015- CLICHE’ – CREATE YOUR LIFE EVERY-DAY

15574703_s
This picture, to signify the positive changes you can bring about, whether you are male or female.

So what , year ends on the 31st of December, every year….it’s just another day, is it not?

If people said we would like to have an excuse on this day, to get together, have parties , and have fun, it’s totally fine.

Aside from the fact that we change the last digit on the current year, there is not much significant change actually. We are still moving on.

However, us injecting new decisions into our future at the end of the year is something significant. But luckily you can do that any day.

Life is what you make out of it, EVERYDAY. That’s another cliche’ : ) BUT happens to be true.

So you have the time (assuming you are healthy)…..years ahead of you.

Time itself moves only as a concept, it doesn’t exist like a physical thing. We can’t hold the time. We record time according to the movements of the sun and earth. We know this from geography, right? Days, months, seasons…we just keep track of the periods in our heads.

If a day is more spectacular than another day, it is because of YOU, not because of the moon, the sun or the movements of the earth.

You can CHANGE and bring about new, positive things in the world.

Physical changes, conceptual changes, emotional changes.

You turned a piece of mud into a decoration item (change). You understood an idea, a concept that is helping you in life (change). You feel better because of this and that (change)…

The happiness you get out of positive changes, especially the ones created by you, is what makes your day spectacular.

So finally, these changes don’t usually happen to you by accident. You need to make some movements…

Grab some mud, move it into something else (work). Look into things, read or hear a concept, then process it in your mind (it is still work). Talk to someone to solve problems, give understanding, get understanding, change some setting , so you can change your emotion (work).

You see?

To the degree that you don’t take action for yourself, in life, to that degree you are subject to life, as it is created by others.

I AM PRETTY SURE YOU WILL CREATE POSITIVE CHANGES for yourself and for the world.

Much,MUCH, much love to you.
